3CS at MOUNTAIN PLANET: A Successful Debut in Grenoble

With CITY CABLE CAR SOLUTIONS 3CS, MOUNTAIN PLANET and INTERALPIN brought together international cable car experts.

International Platform for Urban Cable Car Mobility

The second edition of CITY CABLE CAR SOLUTIONS 3CS has established itself as an international platform for urban cable car mobility within the framework of MOUNTAIN PLANET. Around 100 participants attended a program that presented concrete projects, scientific findings, and strategic approaches for integrating cable cars into urban transportation systems. “The very positive feedback and international participation show that CITY CABLE CAR SOLUTIONS 3CS is a forward-looking format,” summarizes Stefan Kleinlercher, project manager at INTERALPIN.

Practical Examples and Scientific Perspectives

The lecture program brought together contributions from the fields of politics, planning, science, and operations. Particularly impressive were the practical examples from France, including the urban cable cars “Câble 1” and “Téléo.” The presentations demonstrated how successfully implemented systems can serve as a starting point for further expansion projects. Scientific studies, such as those by transportation scientist Stephan Tischler, are also increasingly shedding light on social aspects such as safety and user experience in an urban context.

Guided Tour and Strong Partnerships

A highlight was the guided tour, which showcased specific technological solutions and developments. The collaboration between INTERALPIN and MOUNTAIN PLANET, as well as support from industry partners such as Doppelmayr and POMA/HTI, contributed significantly to the success of the event.

Outlook for INTERALPIN 2027

The next edition of CITY CABLE CAR SOLUTIONS 3CS will take place as part of INTERALPIN from April 20 to 23, 2027, in Innsbruck. INTERALPIN is currently represented at the NSAA National Convention & Tradeshow in Carlsbad, California.
