Snow Crystal Gala 2025 celebrated the 50th anniversary of INTERALPIN

The SNOW CRYSTAL GALA 2025 celebrated 50 years of INTERALPIN - with 650 guests, prominent guests of honour and the presentation of the prestigious ‘Snow Crystal of Winter Sports’.

While INTERALPIN gathered trade visitors from all over the world at Messe Innsbruck during the day, in the evening the Who's Who of the global ropeway industry and celebrities from industry, business, science, sport and politics came together for the festive INTERALPIN SNOW CRYSTAL GALA at Congress Innsbruck. Around 650 guests accepted the invitation from the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV), the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) and Congress Messe Innsbruck (CMI). The SNOW CRYSTAL GALA 2025 celebrated the 50th anniversary of INTERALPIN - and provided the glamorous setting for an evening full of emotions and encounters with a special highlight: the awarding of the Snow Crystal of Winter Sports.

ORF honoured with the prestigious award

The prestigious award, which has been presented since 1992 for outstanding lifetime achievements in popularising skiing, went to ORF this year. With this award, the ÖSV honours a medium that has accompanied and shaped domestic winter sports for decades and brought it into the living rooms of the country with great commitment.

In his laudatory speech, former ÖSV Secretary General Klaus Leistner praised the ORF for its journalistic quality, its proximity to the athletes, its emotional reporting and as an indispensable partner for the development and popularisation of skiing not only in Austria but also at international level. The award was presented to Georg Laich, editor-in-chief of the ORF Tyrol regional studio.

With the ORF, another important name joins the list of Schneekristall award winners - including legends such as Toni Sailer, Artur Doppelmayr, Lucky Schmidtleitner and Charly Kahr.
